Following up on their Armor A10, Taiwanese based Silicon Power has released their Armor A50 external hard drive. The portable HD features an aluminum construction and meets military specifications (MIL-STD 810F) for both drop testing and shock testing, validating it as a rugged hard drive.

The new drive includes a 2 year warranty and is available in four drive sizes: 250GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB. The drives come with USB connectivity (USB 2.0/1.1) and OneTouch backup for data backup/synchronization and support data transfer rates up to 480MBps. Silicon Power has also thrown in management software and a trial version of Norton Antivirus software to keep the drive free from viruses and other malware.
