The latest offering through Sharp Electronics comes by way of a cordless phone with an integrated digital picture frame. The device (model number JD-4C1CL) looks appealing and comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and 64MB of internal storage space which should be sufficient to house quite a number of digital pictures.

In addition to functioning as a picture frame, there are a few other basic functions built into its design including a personal calendar, clock and photo book. Units will be available this April when it launches in red, brown and white.

This device could make a pretty cool gift for a family member. Perhaps you’re studying abroad or are married with children. You could load the device up with personal family pictures and offer it up to mom and dad on a special occasion such as a birthday or an anniversary. Then every time you call home like a good son or daughter and mom/dad picks up the phone, there will always be some memorable family pictures nearby. But then again, if you really want to show you family ties, perhaps a DNA portrait might be more in line with your true geek nature.
