There is talk that Sharp is planning on releasing a 3D mobile phone before the year is out. Little is known about Sharp’s development plans on this other then it will should also come with a 3D camera. Although the device will most likely run on the Google Android operating system, what we are still waiting for are the actual hardware specifications like screen size and storage capacity to name just a few.
What’s interesting about Sharp’s entry into this market is the smartphone that they are developing will not require 3D glasses. Sharp has been working on 3D display technology that is glasses-free and it’s believed that one of this display screens will form the foundation of the new Sharp mobile phone. Sharp smartphones have been lagging behind the industry leaders like Apple and HTC and perhaps 3D phones with 3D cameras will help them reduce the gap.
