The second generation Pogoplug was announced today and it seems to have taken a page out of a trendy fashion magazine, adding a splash of bright pink to it’s design. The Pogoplug, one of the first products to be based upon the SheevaPlug, allows you to access digital content stored on USB devices across an internet connection. Retailing for $129, the unit includes iPhone support as well as Twitter and Facebook integration.

There are also 4 USB 2.0 ports allowing up to 4 USB drives to be connected simultaneously. The units work equally well with Windows and MAC and can be used to share digital content such as pictures, music collections or even for streaming movies, although for this, you will need a good broadband connection. Sharing content is supported through the Pogoplug website or directly to an Apple iPhone. Once the unit has been purchased, there are no ongoing monthly service fees to access the Pogoplug website.
