SDXC, SD Extended Capacity, are high speed memory cards with a digital data storage capacity of 2 TB.

Expected to launch this year, the high speed memory cards will have an initial data transfer speed of 104MBps and this to will rise to an impressive 300Mbps. Such high transfer rates will be required to efficiently move large volumes of digital data between the latest electronic gadgets.

The prominence of HD technology and high quality digital cameras will demand that SD memory cards evolve to meet this need and smart shoppers will do their homework through consumer reports prior to purchase. The SDXC is definitely a step in the right direction.
