Sanyo has added a new high definition camcorder to its XACTI lineup. The new model, DMX-CG110, is a dual camera that supports both 14MP still photography as well as full 1080p high definition video capture.
The camcorder integrates Sanyo’s high-speed image-processing engine which introduces additional benefits in the form of improved noise reduction and better power consumption. HD video recorded with the Sanyo camcorder is in MPEG-4 AVC / H.264, a video format that is supported by Microsoft Windows 7 and is easy to work with using video editing software such as Windows Live Movie Maker.
The device also includes a 12x Double-Range Zoom that allows videographers one touch access to move between different zoom ranges. Digital content is recorded on 16GB of internal memory which can be supplemented further using SDHC and SDXC memory cards and it is also compatible with Eye-Fi cards for automatic uploading to a personal computer.
To round out the features, CG110 with its ergonomic grip includes composite, USB 2.0 and HDMI connectivity as well as a 2.7-inch folding LCD display. A full battery charge will offer roughly 1 hour of HD video capture or 160 still images.
We should see the Sanyo XACTI CG110 camcorder retail in Japan this April when it will be launched in either black or red. At this time, pricing has not been disclosed.
