SanDisk has introduced a new line of CF memory cards known as the SanDisk Extreme Pro. The new flash cards are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 16GB to 64GB and support a maximum read/write speed of 90MB/s. Designed for professional photographers, the new cards more then double the transfer speeds of its predecessor.
SanDisk mentions that the Extreme Pro is also more reliable thanks to new firmware algorithms, a 42-bit ECC engine and the presence of fewer component parts.
The CF cards are not cheap, ranging in price from $300 (16GB) to $800 (64GB) and should be in retail outlets shortly.
