SanDisk 64GB Ultra SDXC Cards Released

SanDisk (NASDAQ:SNDK) has confirmed that they are working towards a 2TB storage card but the launch date for that card may not be in near future. However, photographers and videographers that like to keep their digital content on just a single storage device will be pleased to hear that SanDisk has confirmed the availability of a 64GB Ultra SDXC card. The SDXC cards are the latest iteration of the SDHC and SD card formats, meaning that the number of devices that have adopted the newer format may be somewhat limited. However, to date, this is SanDisk’s highest capacity card yet and comes with a class 4 rating, sporting a read speed of 15MB/s.

The new SanDisk SDXC card is capable of storing up to 8 hours of high definition video recording at a recording speed of 9Mbps and for maximum compatibility, the cards conform to the SD 3.0 specifications and use the exFAT file system.

Expect the cards to retail for $350.
