SanDisk 32GB microSDHC Card

Recently, SanDisk had a notice on their homepage indicating that “something big is coming”. Though it was unclear exactly what the new offering would be on March 23, 2010, it was an educated guess that it would probably be memory of some sort that would be available in a greater storage capacity.

Well, it looks like the cat is out of the bag as SanDisk plans to unveil a 32GB microSDHC memory card. For now, this will be the world’s largest memory card available for smartphones and other mobile devices. The Class 2 card will retail for $199.99 and can be purchased online at the SanDisk website as well as through other select online partner sites located in Europe and the US. Worldwide distribution of this product is expected to commence in April.

The card will come with a 5-year warranty and if you’re looking for some perspective on just how big 32GB of storage space is, SanDisk mentions that this card would hold enough music so that you can make 35-round-trip flights between San Francisco and New York without having to repeat a single song.
