Samsung is about to make the portable multimedia player market a little more enticing with their latest PMP, the YP-RO. With a 2.6-inch touchscreen display and 8GB of internal memory, it’s sure to make PMP users give it a second look.
The 8GB capacity may feel thoroughly average for some, which is why Samsung fitted the YP-RO with a microSD card slot, letting users expand the memory to suit their needs. This PMP is slim – it weighs in at a sexy 60 grams, includes an integraded RDS FM tuner, and has the capability to support most of the more widely-used music, image, and video formats today.
The following formats are supported: MP3, WMA, OGG, ASF, FLAC, AAC, WAV, MPEG4, WMV, PNG, BMP, JPEG, GIF.
Yup, pretty much everything.
Details are a bit scant at this point, but this much is known – it’s going to hit the shelves at $183 each. Exactly when and exactly where, however, remains to be seen over the next few days.
