Samsung Electronics has announced the release of the SCH-W760, the first handset to feature an infrared night vision camera that can be used for night photos and video conferences in complete darkness. As to why you’d want to hold infrared video telephony (IRVT) sessions in the pitch dark is another question, but it is a feature that you can use should you be so inclined to do so.
Other features included in this 3G slider phone include a 3-megapixel digital camera, 2.8-inch AMOLED display with 200×400 resolution, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot for expansion memory.
Expected to be released only in Korea at this time, this Samsung handset will also support S-DMB local TV programming and Bluetooth wireless technology. The MSRP for this phone is $457 and there is no word as to if Samsung will release the new phone in markets outside of Korea.
