The Samsung Galaxy Tab appears to be extending the family. Along with the 10.1-inch and 7-inch model, there will now be a new 8.9-inch model so says a Samsung executive.
According to the reports, Samsung hopes to try and have a tablet with the right measurements to meet the needs of as many different people as possible. If a given tablet isn’t the right size, there are two others to try out. I guess it’s like buying shoes, one size doesn’t fit all. Like the other tablets, this new one will eventually go on sale through the various global mobile carriers and it’s likely that it will be available with subsidized pricing under contract and also as a contract free option.
Expect to see the new tablet go on sale as soon as next month as Samsung tries to strengthen its arsenal against the onslaught that is being brought forward by the HP Touchpad, Motorola XOOM and the soon to be announced Apple iPad 2. There is no further information available as to if the 8.9-inch model will come equipped with any new hardware features but we’ll probably be hearing about this new Android model very soon.
