The Samsung Corby S3650 mobile phone has only been around for about four months, and Samsung has already announced its successor — the Samsung Lindy M5650. Apparently the flaws of the Corby were too glaring to ignore, but the time WAS good for the Lindy to make its debut.
Like the Corby, the Lindy was designed to appeal to a younger audience. It still has a colorful, somewhat cartoony profile and user interface, and its music-oriented features should appeal to music-lovers. It’s basically a music handset with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, FM radio, Wi-Fi, dedicated touch-sensitive music keys, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also has 50MB of internal storage, expandable via microSD cards.
The Lindy was originally seen two weeks ago, but is apparently now on sale in Portugal with a price tag of around US$250 – US$260. It’s likely going to land in other European countries first, then China, India, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Should make for an interesting buy if you’re looking for your first touchscreen handset and music player in one.
