Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica

Samsung has unveiled their new smartphone called the i5700 Galaxy Spica. A junior to the Galaxy, the Spica is a Google phone running on the Android operating system and as such, has access to the Google suite of products including Google Maps, Google Search, Gmail, Google Talk, YouTube and the Android Market. As is common with many smartphones these days, Samsung has included social network interactivity into the phone with support for the popular social sites Facebook and Myspace.

The Spica comes with an auto focusing 3MP digital camera, GPS, WiFi/Bluetooth network support, a 3.5mm jack as well as USB 2.0 and MicroUSB ports. Powered by an 800MHz core processor, the Spica is the first Android phone to fully support the Divx video format.

The Spica is currently available in Europe with Samsung mentioning that the smartphone will make it’s way to Africa and the Middle East. Pricing has not been disclosed at this time.
