Yesterday, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy Tab was spotted in a train station in Sydney, Australia. 24 hours ago, a launch date was not known, but it was expected that the Android tablet could be in final testing which would mean that a launch would be imminent.

That was yesterday. Today, Samsung has officially confirmed that the Android tablet will debut on September 2nd at the IFA event in Berlin. There’s even a teaser video of this 7-inch tablet that will come with Android 2.2 (FroYo) and feature video conference calling.

Looks interesting, but with only a 7-inch screen size, will it have what it takes to compete with the 9.8-inch iPad and the assorted 10.1-inch Android tablets that are available?
