Samsung has joined the ranks of the paperless books with their new e-Book reader called Papyrus or SNE-50K. To be released in Korea first, the e-book reader will come with a 5-inch touchscreen display, 512MB on-board memory and a stylus pen.
At 9mm in thickness and 6.5 ounces, the reader is small and light, but what’s noticeably missing from this portable device is wireless and internet connectivity.
At the time of launch, Samsung will enter into a partnership with online bookseller Kyobo Bookstore who will offer digital books for download that are compatible with the reader.
The Samsung book reader will retail for $270 with plans to introduce the unit into both the UK and the US later this year.
