If you want to cut to the chase, the long story short is that Samsung has officially confirmed that their Canadian customers will have to wait until June 27th for the launch of the Galaxy S III.
There’s no doubt that there are a lot of customers waiting for Samsung’s newest handset and this news will be disappointing, but according to Samsung’s Twitter feed, the delay can be attributed to the “unprecedented demand” for the Galaxy S III. The change in launch date means that customers will have to wait another 7 days as the original launch was scheduled for June 20th.
This may be bad news for some customers, and although Samsung doesn’t want to disappoint their customers, you have to think that there are some VPs that are pretty pleased about the demand for this device as it simply means more revenue for the company. In addition to the short comment that Samsung made on their Twitter feed, they did back this up with a proper statement which simply elaborats on the fact that it was “global demand” that has delayed the Canadian launch. Currently, more then 9 million devices have already been pre-ordered with mobile carriers continuing to accept pre-orders. Due to the limited supplies of the smartphone that are currently available, Samsung has confirmed that they will be stepping up production to ensure that these shortages are short lived.
