Samsung Champ Is Possibly The Cheapest Touchscreen Phone

Earlier today, we covered the Versace Unique which will cater to the high end phone market and now it looks like Samsung is about to release their own mobile phone that will serve the needs of an entirely different niche.

The Samsung Champ is being bantered around as quite possibly the cheapest touchscreen handset available. It will sport a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen display which for comparisons sake is even smaller then the 2.8-inch screen available on the Samsung Corby.

The Samsung Champ will include the TouchWiz Lite UI which is said to be quite easy and straightforward to use. As far as network connectivity is concerned, it does have Bluetooth 2.1 and for the music lovers, there is also a 3.5 mm headset jack. Rounding out the features are a microSD card slot as well as an integrated camera with 1.3MP of goodness.

The phone will be available in a variety of colors and will launch next month throughout Europe, after which it will also release in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. A US launch has not been confirmed just yet, but the phone will be priced in the sub-$150 range and may even be offered up for free with a 2 year contract.
