In the last year, we’ve reported on a number of events as they pertain to Google’s Chrome operating system and there is now a new Samsung product that is expected to be launching with this OS. The device which goes by the codename of Samsung Alex has been spotted in a couple of bug reports for this operating system and from the information that has been made available, it would seem that the device has improved upon the specs from the first Cr-48 prototype that turned up at the end of 2010.
As it stands now, the Samsung Alex netbook will come with a high definition display screen that supports a pixel resolution of 1280 x 800. It will be powered by a 1.5Ghz atom N550 CPU and come complete with 2GB RAM, a solid state drive from SanDisk, a Qualcomm Gobi Chipset 2000 and Realtek ALC272.
Details about the Alex are very limited right now. However, with Google I/O taking place on May 10th and 11th at the Mascone Center in San Francisco, California, there’s a good chance we may just hear more about Chrome OS and upcoming netbooks that might be utilizing this OS.
