The holiday season is the time of the year when we see some deep discounts on gadgets and this year should really be no different. Most often, these discounts start before black Friday and continue until after Christmas.
The Google Nexus 7 has only been out for a few months now and already there is talk that we can see the Android tablet selling for $99 before the year is out. Based upon a report coming out from the DigiTimes, Asus and Google will partner to develop a pair of tablets which will have a slimmer form factor as well as use the HannStar Display TN panels.
Assuming that these rumours are indeed correct, we’ll have to see some changes in order for Google to meet this price point. These changes could come in the form of the search engine subsidizing the hardware or alternatively, we could see the device specifications coming down slightly. It’s very unlikely that Google would change the screen size of the tablet from 7-inches as this is one of the staples of this device, but perhaps we could see the screen resolution coming down from 1280×800. There is also the possibility that we could see changes to other hardware components such as the processor, the RAM or even the battery.
