It was only a few days ago when Sonim CEO Bob Plaschke learnt the hard way about referencing a gadget as rugged and not being able to back up that claim. Video here.

Sprint has now stepped up to the table, offering Sprint customers another phone choice, this time, the Motorola Brute i680. The i680, is another rugged phone that has met the criteria of military specification 810F for resisting shock, vibration, extreme heat, cold temperatures, low pressure, dust, humidity and salt fog.
For features, the i680 includes 180 MB internal memory, a 2MP digital camera, GPS navigation, two display screens, one internal and one external, stereo bluetooth and a strong battery for longer talk times.
The Motorola phone which will also come with Group Connect and Talkgroup will be available for $119.99 with a 2 year service contract.

Why always such bad cameras in rugged phones???
It’s driving me mad, I need a replacement for my splashwaterfree 2 year old 3.2mp (!!) Sony Ericsson C702.
Why don’t they make a better phone than that instead of one that is less feature packed???
