Fanless pc - Stealth WPC 500f

Stealth Computer recently developed a Fanless PC that can survive liquids, chemicals, dust, and dirt. As the unit is designed without cooling fans that require vents for airflow, the case is completely sealed on all six sides.

Cooling is achieved by using what is called “heat pipe technology” that keeps the internal CPU at a reasonable temperature.

For functionality, there are a number of ports on the WPC-500F that include video, serial, power, and USB connections. Each of these is coupled through bayonet style connectors that are water-tight and typical of hardware designed for the military.

This military design is the result of a need for durable PCs in tough environments, some of which are typical of many areas where the military is currently deployed. The PC is able to handle high temperatures and humidity, high vibrations, and high altitudes. When higher shock and vibration may be an issue, the Solid State Hard Drive (SSD) is available.

For even more functionality and convenience, a wide range of DC input power can be used. This makes the WPC-500F ideal for military operations and operations within commercial, industrial, scientific, transportation, mining, public safety, and telecommunication environments.

You will be able to purchase the Stealth Rugged Waterproof Fanless PC in early July 2009.
