Casio has released a flurry of digital cameras over the last little while, the latest being the Casio Exilim EX-G1. Expected to ship this December at a price of $299.99, the Casio camera is being described as “the world’s toughest camera”. As a rugged camera, it has been designed to withstand extreme conditions, be it temperature, humidity, shock, dirt and even water. Part of the strength of this camera can be attributed to it’s two layer construction which includes a stainless steel metal frame.

Aside from it’s durability, the Ex G1 offers high resolution 12.1 MP digital images and supports such features as interval shooting as well as multi-image capture. The Casio camera comes with a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD display. When released in December, it will be available in either black or red.
