What hasn’t Rovio done with their franchise game Angry Birds. We’ve seen space editions, we’ve seen them in Rio and we’ve seen a ton of holiday themed editions launch. Just when you think Rovio can’t milk this game any longer, they’ve managed to tug at the heart strings of Star Wars fans everywhere.
On Friday, Rovio posted a small teaser trailer to highlight their next edition of Angry Birds which will be Angry Birds Star Wars. In keeping with the Star Wars theme, the story will take place in a galaxy far far away and from the picture that the company uploaded to their new tumblr account, we can see the integration between the two worlds is complete. The image shows what appears to be a red Angry Bird veiled in a dark cloak holding a blue lightsabre. According to the tumblr site, further information along with scene content will be forthcoming shortly.
It’s enough to wet your appetite and interested Star Wars/Angry Birds fans that want even more information won’t have to wait long as the company appears to have an announcement scheduled for this coming Monday, October 8th at 8AM EST. The announcement will take place in New York City at the Toys R Us store.
