Rogers (NYSE: RCI) has added a pair of touchscreen mobile devices to their phone lineup. The new models are the LG Pop and the Samsung Flight, models which both seem to have interesting names. This almost seems to be a trend lately with HTC also going with a catchy name for their latest offering, the HTC Incredible.
However, I digress. The LG Pop or GD510 is one small “touchphone”. The mobile device measures 95.3 x 49.6 x 11.2 mm and is 89 grams light. Although small in size, the touchscreen display is of fair size. It may not measure up to the Qisda QCM-330 Smartphone, but it still comes in at a respectable 3-inches and offers a 240×400 screen resolution on its WQVGA display.
In terms of features, the LG Pop comes with the usual specifications seen in a typical mobile phone including a 3 megapixel digital camera with 2x digital zoom and video recording capabilities. Additionally, a microSD card offers mobile users the option to expand the digital storage space to 16GB while the integrated music player will keep you entertained. Rounding out the features is the presence of Bluetooth technology.
Pricing for the new phone has been set at $174.99 sans contract whereas a one year Rogers Mobility service contract will result in a price drop to $124.99. Best price available for the LG Pop is $69.99 but you will be locked into a two year contract.
