Rogers Wireless, a Canadian cell phone provider, will launch its HSPA+ network in five Canadian cities. Initially, the high speed mobile internet service was to be made available in only the Greater Toronto Area, but added to the list is now Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal.

HSPA+ supports a download speed of 21Mbps, three times faster then the current HSPA network. With the new service, customers will have access to the fastest mobile broadband network in North America, edging out Sprint’s 4G service that caps at 10MBPS.

To take advantage of the new service, customers will require a HSPA+ Rocket Stick, a USB modem that retails for $79.99 with a signed three year contract or $200 without a contract. The new stick will work with both PC and MAC.

The new service will come into effect on September 28th with additional cities added down the road.
