Rogers Canada To Carry Galaxy Spica

Rogers Canada To Carry Galaxy Spica

There’s been some rumors circulating over the course of the last day or so that Rogers Canada (NYSE: RCI) would be adding another Android phone to its lineup and today Mobile Syrup has received snaps of a dummy phone sporting the Rogers brand.

The mobile phone in question is the Samsung Galaxy Spica, an Android phone running version 1.5 of the operating system though there is some debate as to if it will have Android 2.0 before it reaches Rogers’ retail outlets.

An official press release nor pricing have been made available by Rogers but what we can say is the Android phone includes an 800 MHZ processor and has a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution.

For features, the Spica includes the usual specs of a digital camera, 3 megapixels in resolution with video recording support, a speakerphone, 3.5mm headset jack, DivX support and DNSe 2.0 which simply adds to the richness of the audio quality. Additionally, there is a microUSB card slot that can support memory expansion to 32GB RAM, integrated GPS support and of course, you’ll get all of the bells and whistles that come with the Android OS.

The Spica is also said to be the thinnest Android phone available in Canada, measuring in at 11.9mm thick.
