We’re starting to hear some price points for the upcoming Research In Motion Playbook tablet. When the tablet launches, expect it to do so with a price just under $500 which takes direct aim at the iPad pricing policy.
Executives on behalf of BlackBerry were reluctant to announce the exact price of the PlayBook, but according to Businessweek, the tablet will be cheaper then the iPad or at the very least, “competitive”.
As a quick refresher, the PlayBook is a 7-inch tablet with a 1024×600 WSVGA touchscreen display that supports full multi-touch. It is powered with a 1GHz dual core CPU and has 1GB RAM and a pair of cameras, 3MP in the front and a 5MP rear camera that supports 1080p high definition video recording.
