September 21, 2008 marked the end of an era with the closing of Yankee Stadium, the house that Ruth built. Over a span of three years, using some 45,000 lego bricks, Sean Kenney, with the aid of a grade schooler, recreated Yankee Stadium. Although not quite complete, Sean anticipates the project will be completed in the next few months.

The sculpture is 5 feet wide by 5 feet tall and is built to a scale of 1:50 of the original Yankee Stadium. Sean has made his rendition of the park as close as possible to the original. All the familiar sights of the original park are included, such as the “façade” and “Monument park”. Once the park is completed, Lego scoreboards, fans and hot dog vendors will be added.
