Remote Control Helicopter

If you love playing with miniature remote-controlled helicopters, then you’ve probably wondered if it were ever possible to hook it up with your camera to see what the world looks like from up there. Well, now you can — the SkyShutter custom built RC helicopter rig will let you do just that.

SkyShutter is a made-to-order RC helicopter rig that lets you mount a video camera or DSLR of up to 6 pounds heavy and take it skyward. It’ll come with two remote controls — one to control the helicopter rig itself, and the other to control the mount, pointing the camera to any direction you choose. This gives you a whole new playground to tinker with, provided the rig stays within remote control range.

SkyShutter is fun, but it’s definitely not cheap — it’ll set you back more or less than $9,000, depending on the size and model of your camera. But with it, you can take aerial shots that grounded photographers can only hope to take.

Of course, you’ll also need some prior experience in handling RC helicopters to use SkyShutter effectively — otherwise, don’t even think about it. Same goes if you’re planning the next “Balloon Boy” hoax!
