Thanko, the Japanese company known for their crazy gadgets have come out with a USB Cigarette which they claim is a quit smoking aid. This is their alternative to patches, gum, hypnosis and other methods commonly used to break the habit.
This electronic cigarette simulates the movements of smoking such as the feel of the cigarette stick between the fingers and puffing on the cigarette tip.
However, unlike a regular cigarette, this one does not contain the harmful chemicals nicotine or tar.
This cigarette kit includes 11 filter butts and an atomizer. The individual electronic cigarettes charge through any available USB port on a PC or laptop. With recent changes to smoking bylaws, many companies are offering alternative products, electronic cigarettes are one example, as is liquid smoking.

This actually isn’t a bad idea, but I’m not sure how effective it’ll be. I guess if the user was on a Nicotine patch or something, going through the motions of smoking will put them at ease, but the Nicotine is what gets them their fix.
But hey, if it works, more power to the soon-to-be-ex-smokers. ^_^

Interesting, but I don’t think this will help smokers quit. Not even the Japanese will be able to solve the smoking problem…
