With the rash of Apple hardware and software updates, one might question if the MacBook Pro is also due for an update and because of some handy detective work by the folks on the Applesana message board, it appears this just may be the case.
The evidence for this claim comes from examination of core files within the developer version of Mac OS X 10.6.2 which references the unreleased MacBook Pro models (MacBook Pro 6.1 and the MacBook Pro 6.1b). This of course is assuming that Apple keeps the same numbering scheme as current MacBook Pro models are identified with a 5.x designation.
