Psystar Chapter 11 Bankrupcy

Psystar, the Apple clone maker has successfully completed its corporate restructuring and has returned from filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. In an email newsletter that went out to their subscriber base, the company indicated that they are now ready to “emerge and again battle Goliath.”

A perennial thorn in Apple’s side, the company has already announced the release of new hardware, this time in the form of Open(7) which “brings together OS X and Intel Nehalem Xeon technology.”

The new device supports up to 24GB of RAM and will be available in either a desktop or rackmount version. MSRP for the new unit has been set at $1499.99.

Along with this announcement, Psystar also indicated that they would start using a new bootloader known as the Darwin Universal Boot Loader, which will be made available to the open source community.
