Engadget has reportedly received two grainy images of next weeks in store Target ads. If the images are too believed and are not photo manipulations, it would appear that there will be a price drop coming for the Xbox 360 gaming console.
The Xbox 360 Elite will retail for $299, a price drop of $100 and the Xbox 360 Pro will retail for $250, a price drop of $50. These reduced prices have not come out of the blue as there has been some online speculation about price cuts since early August.
As to the reason behind the cuts, it would be two fold. First, this may be an attempt on the part of Microsoft to compete with the Sony which not only released their PS3 Slim but also dropped the price of the PS3 by about $100 recently.
Secondly, the Xbox Pro will be reaching end of life soon and this may be a means to sell surplus inventory.
The Target advertisements don’t go in effect until this coming Sunday, August 30th so if you’re thinking of buying a gaming console, it might be worth the wait.

that’s the best deal ever! I think Sony did a great job! Here. Waah, now it makes me wonder whether to buy this console or spend my money with Aion.
