There’s been a lot of competition in the ebook reader market with the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes and Noble reader garnering a significant portion of the headlines, but today, Sony announced that you can now pre-order their book reader.
This is a good news, bad news situation. It’s great that you can pre-order this unit, which by the way will cost you $399, but if you’re looking to buy this for a Christmas gift, either for yourself or someone else, you may not get it in time. As you go through the order process and reach the checkout phase, you’ll be greeted by the message “Pre-orders will ship Dec. 18 thru Jan. 8. Actual delivery date cannot be guaranteed.”
There is talk that content producers, both magazine and newspaper publishers will be in place within the next month or so, but of course you’ll need the reader first to access this digital content.
If you’re interested in pre-ordering this 7-inch reader, head on over to the SonyStyle shop.
