Portable Sanho HyperDrive Album

Sanho, the designers of IT accessories such as the HyperMac is out once again with a new product called the HyperDrive Album. The new gadget is a photo backup device drive sizes ranging from 160GB all the way up to a 640GB.

The device includes a high resolution display screen that is 4.8-inches in size and supports a pixel resolution of 800×480. It includes support for a variety of file formats and is said to be the only storage device that is capable of decoding and displaying RAW image files up to the pixel level.

With 640GB of storage space, transfer speeds are of critical importance with the Sanho HyperDrive Album boasting of a transfer speed of up to 32MB/s over a USB connection with full speed support for both CompactFlash UDMA 300X and Secure Digital Class 10 also thrown in.

Mobile users can also enable a security password to prevent unauthorized login and a wide range of tools are also included to verify data backup and hard drive health status. The unit obtains power through a lithium-ion battery which is capable of transferring up to 200GB of digital pictures before a recharge is required.

The 640GB Album retails for $599 but pricing starts at $350 for the smallest drive size available, 160GB.

    You can get a netbook for that price. Unless you truly need something that compact and are shooting that many photos in one shooting, I feel a netbook would do just as well if not better.
