For quite some time, Polaroid was the brand name when it came to instant cameras. People would snap a photo, wave the photo in the air to allow it to develop and would instantly have a developed picture with a white border. The instant cameras were a hit with many as they could see their pictures immediately, rather then having to wait a week for film development to be completed.

Over time though, Polaroid lost market share as digital cameras became popular. However, Polaroid believes that now is the time to recreate their instant cameras and so they have announced the release of their new camera, the PIC 1000. The new film camera will require Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film which will allow the photographer to snap 10 picture perfect moments per pack and just like the good old days, the pictures will have the white borders.
Polaroid Pic 1000 will go on sale this year for about $100. Lets just hope that they don’t follow the road of the ink cartridges and overprice the film.
