Plastic Logic has officially entered the hot e-book reader market, introducing its QUE proReader at the Consumer Electrics Show (CES) 2010 in Las Vegas. And if its makers are to be believed, it’s poised to be more than just your “average e-Reader.”
The QUE features an 8.5-by-11-inch form factor with a 10.7-inch touchscreen plastic display. It may not be the biggest screen in the market today, but seems to do the job well. The QUE can read and annotate document formats that business users need (such as PDF, ePub, MS Office, etc.), as well as the standard newspapers and e-books.
The QUE comes in two versions — a 4GB version with storage for 35,000 documents, or an 8GB model with space for 75,000. The 4GB version can access content through Wi-Fi, while the 8GB version can utilize both Wi-Fi and 3G (AT&T).
The QUE Store currently accepts pre-orders, and you can expect yours at your doorstep by mid-April. If you can wait until later this year, it’ll also be available in Barnes & Noble. The QUE’s only downside is the hefty price tag — $649 for the 4GB model and $799 for the 8GB one.
