A rather unusually named Swedish company called People of Lava has announced their Android-based TV sets. Their new television line called Scandinavia will be available in screen sizes of 42-inches, 47-inches and 55-inches with the 42-inch TV to be available first at a retail price of $2,500.
The Android TVs are powered by an 833MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, support full 1080p HD and come with an HDMI port, USB 2.0 ports and a DVB-T digital TV tuner, but off course, the highlight of the set is the Google OS, with Scandinavia specifically running Android 1.5.
The user interface has also been customized by the Swedish company with the UI being called Scandinavia Window to the World. With the UI, you will get access to the usual Google suite of products such as YouTube videos, Google Maps, an Internet browser, calender, weather and local time and there is talk that the company will also be launching its own app store through which additional free and premium software will be available for download.
