There’s a new iPhone app making its way through the Apple approval process. Apple has usually kept strict controls on which apps makes it way into the AppStore and which ones don’t, but the latest iPhone app from PayPal, called PayPal Mobile 2.5 has noble ambitions behind it.
With the latest version of PayPal Mobile, there is a donation feature that will allow you to easily donate money to over 23,000 different charities that are located throughout Canada, the US and the UK. PayPal hasn’t done this alone, but has teamed up with Artez and MissionFish to make this a success.
Mobile donation options like sending SMS text messages to donate money for a worthy cause are growing and PayPal is simply expanding and easing the process of giving to charities. Bill Gates, who along with his wife has started a charity organization called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, recently was quoted as saying that the biggest challenge to donating money was not that people just don’t care about the issues but rather, the process of giving money was to complex. PayPal Mobile 2.5 will hopefully ease this complexity.
