(OK not many TSA people are that smart but the must be some) The cord could be used to make a garrote, and the excess to secure hostages. Better to use dental floss for those purposes. I also ride a MC & also keep a small amount in the bags. I started out with a 50'rope &now have in two yr's about twenty left. A lot of it os shorter pc. as I cut it as I needed it & kept them &use them over as ness. The two things you will never me without are my rope &pocket knife. I think of them as tools . Once I had to help a friend out of a ditch &all we had was my small rope I just tribbled it &proceded to pull him out . I savd the day & hima lot of money in tow bills.
