According to the Sprint (NYSE: S) forums, owners of the Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre and the Palm Pixi can expect a new update, WebOS 1.4 sometime today with some suggesting that the update will be late tonight. The OTA (Over The Air) update is expected to be preceded by an informational message advising mobile users of the availability of this update.
WebOS 1.4 will include a number of fixes as well as enhancements that Palm users have been eagerly waiting for. Some of the fixes include a time zone bug fix, irregular browser formatting resolved and network time synchronization issue resolved to accurately reflect the network time.
Some of the new enhancements included in WebOS 1.4 are the ability to import and export phonebook contacts as well as enhancements to a number of features including messaging, calender, email and notification. WebOS 1.4 will also add support for Adobe Flash 10.0 with the necessary plug-in being available through the Palm App Catalog at a later date.
