OS X Snow Leopard Outsells Leopard Twice Over

Apple OS X Snow Leopard

Apple’s iPod nano recently made waves among Apple fans with its new video camera, and the new device is reportedly selling like no tomorrow. But it’s not Apple’s only big seller for the fall — it’s been reported that its new operating system, OS X Snow Leopard, is also doing well. Twice as well, in fact when compared with the original OS X Leopard.

Market researchers have found that OS X Leopard has sold two times as many copies than Leopard in their respective first two weeks, which is obviously in the direction Apple would have wanted it to take. In addition, it’s also doing four times better than the OS X Tiger did.

This phenomenon could be chalked up to the fact that there are more Apple users than ever before, but even that’s a good thing for Apple. It may still have a bit of ground to cover in terms of market share, but there’s little doubt that it innovates much more quickly than most other players on the field.

Users approve of the Snow Leopard’s ease of installation and cheap price. Anyone with a Mac can now enjoy much better performances for only $40.

Now let’s see if that “other” upcoming OS can do even better…
