In an effort to maintain its number one spot in the mobile browser market, Opera has announced the release of the Opera browser mini 5 which is now available in beta. With growing competition from the Apple iPhone, Google and possibly Firefox later in the year, it will be tough for Opera to maintain its dominant position. However, the company hopes that the new browser features will help.
The Java based Opera Mini 5 includes tab browsing as well as supports both keypad and touchscreen based browsing. The new browser also includes a password manager to store all of your online passwords be it for social networks, email or any other networked system that you access.
To round out the features, Mini 5 also includes speed dials that are thumbnails of your favorite websites so that you can quickly access them.
