Onkyo Corporation out of Japan has unveiled their new netbook called the Onkyo MX1007A4. The biggest selling feature of the netbook would have to be its extended life battery which offers 14.4 hours of running time before needing to be recharged.
However, in order to offer the extra up time, Onkyo did have to skimp in other areas. For instance, instead of the Intel Atom processor N450, the netbook makes do with a 1.2GHz Atom Z515 chip. The question that begs to be asked is how much of an impact does the slower CPU processor affect netbook functionality?
Aside from the questions about performance, the MX1007A4 comes with 1GB RAM, 250GB hard disk drive, integrated wireless network connectivity through WiFi 802.11b/g (no n) and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. Additionally, there is a wired Ethernet jack, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, a multifunctional card reader, biometric fingerprint security features, and a microphone and web camera that can be used in tandem for video chat or conferencing.
Japan will be the first country to see the Onkyo netbook which will debut on April 10th.
