Onkyo Japan has come up with a few nifty netbooks recently, and the NX707A4 [JP] is perhaps the most interesting one of the bunch. It’s a 7-inch netbook that also functions as a tablet. What’s more, it comes with a GPS module.
The tablet netbook runs on an 1.33GHz Atom Z520 processor and comes with 1GB RAM and 80GB of physical storage. Everything’s on an Intel US15W chipset. The device includes two (2) USB ports, slots for SD/SDHC/MMC/Memory Stick Pro and ExpressCard/24, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, and two webcams (0.3MP and 3MP). The 7-inch touchscreen display has a decent 1024×600 pixel resolution.
The netbook also comes bundled with the Windows 7 starter edition, and lasts around 3 hours after a full-charge. Its vital statistics are as follows: 193 x 132 x 22-30mm, at 720g. It will set you back at the value of US$680 when you buy it in Japan, though there’s no word whether Onkyo Japan plans to make the NX707A4 available elsewhere. Looks like a job for import/export specialists if you ask me.
