When Olympus decided to call their new digital cameras the Tough series, they really weren’t kidding.
In terms of specifications, the Tough-8000 comes with 12 megapixels of resolution whereas the Tough-6000 has 10 megapixels.
Where the fun starts is with the other things Olympus claims these latest digital cameras can do. For instance, the Tough-8000 can be dropped from 6.6 feet in height, can go down to a depth of 33 feet as well as withstand pressures of up to 220 lbs and it will “laugh at freezing temperatures.”
The Tough-6000 isn’t quite so tough, but still impressive in that it can be dropped from 5 feet and can go to depths of 10 feet.
