NVIDIA 3DTV Play Brings 3D Games To The Big Screen

NVIDIA has launched their 3DTV Play software technology that allows pc users to attach a GeForce GPU-powered personal computer or notebook to a supported 3D television to enjoy high definition 3D entertainment be it 3D gaming or movie action.

The technology works through an HDMI 1.4 connection and requires users to wear the appropriate 3D glasses for that brand television be it active-shutter or passive polarized glasses. Once the setup has been completed, 3DTV Play will perform a real time stereoscopic 3D conversion of any one of 400 supported game titles without the need of any patches or upgrades. Hence you can now enjoy games such as World of Warcraft – Wrath of the Lich King and Battlefield Bad Company 2 not just in 3D, but also on the big screen and hopefully with surround sound.

The new technology opens up the 3D world and with more and more 3D digital content being made available online every day, 3DTV Play is a nice way to enjoy not just movies and games, but also other content such as 3D pictures or maps to name just a few.

The NVIDIA software will be available this spring for $39.99 and if you happen to be a NVIDIA 3D Vision customer, you will be entitled to the software for free.
