Some have come out with bold claims referring to the Notion Ink Adam Tablet as an “iPad killer”, but to be able to carry this designation successfully, a device needs to have some very impressive features. One of the bigger features that would be necessary is a long life battery that would give the tablet a good uptime and definitely something that was comparable to the iPad’s 10-12 hour battery life.
Up until now, many tablet computers have tried to claim the title of iPad killer, but most have not been able to meet this rather important criteria of uptime. However, things are about to change. A Notion Ink blog post provides further information about their Android tablet’s battery life and speaker system. According to the claims being made, an Adam that is running in full power mode is capable of getting a minimum of 15 hours of active usage before a battery recharge is required. Still comparing the Adam battery to the iPad, the Adam has a draw rate of 24 Whr while the iPad has a draw rate of 25 Whr. Do the math and it would appear that the Adam will get you 15-20 hours of uptime compared to the iPad’s 11-12.
