Christmas Tree

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is in full swing and Christmas day is just under a week away now. There’s always so much to be thankful for and this year is no exception.

A lot of people are busy making preparations for Christmas. Even Norad (North American Aerospace Defense) will be offering their services again this year, tracking Santa’s historic journey around the world on Christmas Eve through their website Norad Tracks Santa. Their tracking service will begin at midnight MST Christmas Eve and visitors to the website will be able to watch Santa at the North Pole prepare the sleigh, load the presents and complete his final preflight checks. As busy as Santa may be, he’ll also be going 2.0 this year and can be tracked through social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube.

Locally, there’s still a lot of preparation that needs to be done. We’ve seen many streets and homes nicely decorated and what’s really cool is many are thinking of the environment this year, using energy efficient lighting as part of their Christmas decorations.

If you’re a tech geek still looking to put the final touches on your Christmas tree, you may also want to check out Walyou who has put together a complete guide of 194 impressive Christmas Trees and ornaments. Hats off for such a comprehensive guide that covers a variety of niches including anime, Star Wars, video games and of course the cool and the weird.
